Disneyland is a work of love. We didn’t go into Disneyland just with the idea of making money.
“To all who come to this happy place; welcome. Disneyland is your land. Here age relives fond memories of the past…and here youth may savor the challenge and promise of the future. Disneyland is dedicated to the ideals, the dreams and the hard facts that have created America…with the hope that it will be a source of joy and inspiration to all the world.”
Those words were spoken by Walt Disney at the opening of Disneyland in 1955. Since that day billions of people around the globe have watched a Disney cartoon short, marveled at a Disney film or traveled to one of several Disney theme parks. To say I am a fan might not describe my fascination with Walt Disney, the theme parks or the company very well but its the best that I can do right now. I am a fan, a huge fan, and I’m not alone.
Living in northern New England does not lend itself well to easily visiting any of the theme parks on a regular basis but when I could, I would. I have assembled a collection of not just memorabilia or collectibles but a collection of information as well. At the urging of family and friends I have decided to start a small place in the Disney universe to lay down what I know and what I’ve experienced. I will try to provide hints and tips on traveling from longer distances (such as from Maine) to the Mouse, whichever one you choose. From time to time I will also invite other contributors to provide trip reports or reviews so that we may all continue to live in the magic everyday.
With that, I welcome you to grab your favorite beverage, sit back in your favorite chair and enjoy. If you feel like participating or have a question, drop on by our community forums, say hi and ask a way. We’ll answer what we can and welcome all of you to answer as well.
